David F.M. Cooney, P.T., C.P.O.

Physical Therapist/Certified Prosthetist Orthotist

David is an advanced practitioner with clinical experience in lower limb prosthetics and orthotics, spinal orthotics and cranial molding helmets.  David has been providing exemplary prosthetic and orthotic care for over 25 years.  In addition, he has been a Registered Physical Therapist for 27 years.  He holds a Magna Cum Laude Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the USC School of Medicine.  He completed the Prosthetic and Orthotics Certificate Education program at UCLA.  He is certified in both Prosthetics (1983) and Orthotics (1984) by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, Inc. (ABC) and maintains a current Continuing Education profile as mandated by his Profession.

David's expertise in prosthetics, and his reputation for commendable patient care, has made him a sought-after practitioner for patients from around the world.

He is currently certified to provide and fit the Otto Bock C-Leg, Ossur Rheo Knee, and Otto Bock Harmony systems.  He has been educated, and has significant experience in fitting both the CATCAM and MAS transfemoral socket designs. David is also certified to provide the Oregon Orthotic System in addition to a myriad of other advanced lower limb orthotic applications.  His experience with cranial molding orthoses spans more than twenty years.

David has published numerous articles in both prosthetic and orthotic journals and newsletters; has designed various orthotic devices for the field; and has lectured to a variety of physician groups, at a number of physical therapy meetings, and for individual clinical entities.

He is a member of ABC, the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, the American Physical Therapy Association and Cedars Sinai Medical Center Craniofacial Team.

Rudy B. Parada, C.P.O.

Certified Prosthetist Orthotist

Rudy is a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist with the American Board For Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics, Inc. (ABC).  He joined the team as a volunteer in 1996, while simultaneously he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Prosthetic and Orthotics from California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH).  During his ten years as a practitioner, Rudy has provided excellent clinical care to his patients and distinguished his career with the necessary skills and experience to provide appropriate and functional orthotic and prosthetic devices.  

Rudy stays in the forefront of technologies that continue to infuse the orthotic and prosthetic field.  Among the latest innovations, he is certified in the WALKAIDE Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) system, Stance Control Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis (KAFO) and E-Knee™ computer controlled knee joint.  He has also received certification in the FLEX-FOOT Prosthetic Foot System and the Boston Brace Spinal Management.  He maintains good standing in his mandatory Continuing Education with ABC.

Stefan Moser, C.Ped

Certified Pedorthist, Prosthetist/Orthotist (CH)

Stefan earned his certification after a four-year apprenticeship in Lucerne, Switzerland, in 1980.  His first professional tenure was working for the International Red Cross for two years in Angola and Lebanon building prosthetic workshops and training/supervising local technicians in the fitting of hundreds of transtibial amputees, casualties of their respective civil wars.  Stefan arrived in Southern California in 1983 where he continued to refine his skills in prosthetic, orthotic and pedorthic solutions.

In 1989, he founded Swiss Balance Inc., Prosthetics, Orthotics, Pedorthics in Santa Monica and has been providing well-recognized professional care to the greater Los Angeles area, in addition to a diverse roster of international clients. 

Stefan was certified in Pedorthics in 1991 as recognized by the national governing board, the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, Inc. (ABC).  He is also a member of the International Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO).
