The prosthetist evaluates, designs and fabricates
prostheses (artificial limbs). She/he works with
patients who have amputations due to accidents,
congenital problems or other disabling diseases.
As a result, the amputee is able to function with
her/his prosthesis to maximize their independence and
function.
